At the "End of the World," in the Tierra del Fuego region of the Argentina archipelago, there exists a clear history of European settlement. Europeans, motivated by conquests of gold, oil, and prime grazing grasslands sailed to this southernmost area with hopes of monetary gains. Today, southern Argentine cities gather their roots from this rich history.
He noticed a significant number of fires and smoke along the coasts. Therefore, he called these lands the Island of the Land of Smoke before changing his name to the Land of Fire.
