Maybe, time span in Equestria works different than on Earth. We know their clocks are of 8 hours, as we saw in Episode 22 of season 1 "A bird in the hoof". Their days last sisxteen hours, which makes the year shorter. I have my sister giving me a hand with these calculations, as she is the brainiac of the family, and he developed a very easy way to figure numbers out. To every amount of time that's said in the show, multiply it by 1,5 and you'll get the equivalent in Earth time. That said, years in Equestria can last for years on Earth, So when Granny Smith says she was there when Ponyville was founded she might actually be saying the truth, and she can easily be over a hundred years old.
If I venture to be more specific, she might be around , years old, which is almost two centuries. The problem with that is that you don't know how long an Equestrian hour is. Technically, you don't even know that an Equestrian day is 16 Equestrian hours, or that the clock in "A Bird in the Hoof" was showing hours. Well, its not really an error so to speak, since "one" is a term of reference for whatever species.

She discovered "the most incredible" apple trees that bore rainbow-colored apples. When the filly returned home with a bag full of them, she and her father planted the first Zap apple seeds. Drawn in by the jam made from the unique fruit, other ponies started coming to the land, such as Stinkin' Rich , Diamond Tiara 's great-grandfather, who started a small market that sold Zap Apple Jam. Granny Smith concludes the story of the founding of Ponyville by saying, "And before we knew it, we had ourselves a nice little town, bustling with all kinds of ponies.
Because the town was founded by Earth ponies , they had to clean up winter by hoof instead of by magic. In the present day, Ponyville still does the "Winter Wrap-up" as a town tradition; in Winter Wrap Up , Twilight says Ponyville has done this for "hundreds of years" which was seemingly contradicted by Granny Smith's later story of the founding of Ponyville. She put up several statues and flags of herself all over town and forced the citizens to do labor for her or face punishment.
The town returned to normal at the end of the episode when Twilight beat Trixie in a rematch duel. In Simple Ways , the ponies of the town celebrate the Ponyville Days Festival, which commemorates the town's founding. A "pony of ceremonies" is selected to organize the event according to a theme of their choosing. The situation becomes even more dire with the appearance of windigos as a result of the distrust created by the three villains.
Sandbar manages to end this distrust and convince the Earth ponies to help the Mane Six in their final battle. The town hall is at the center of Ponyville's town square. In the first two episodes, the town's citizens gather in the town hall to witness Princess Celestia raise the sun with her magic at the thousandth Summer Sun Celebration. In the episode Applebuck Season , Applejack's friends and Mayor Mare give speeches on the town hall podium at the beginning of a ceremony celebrating Applejack's contributions to the town.
In Griffon the Brush Off , Spike retrieves scrolls from a rack of cubby holes in the town hall. In The Last Roundup , Rainbow Dash is repairing the building prior to a ceremony honoring Applejack when Derpy "assists" her and further damages the building. Applejack pledges to donate the prize money she expects to win at the rodeo. When her friends find out that she failed to win any prize money, they tell her they'll find other ways to fund the repair of the town hall.
More of the town square is seen from an aerial shot in Griffon the Brush Off. The square has a pool with a sculpture of a rearing Earth pony and several colorful tents pitched around it. A river marks the border of one side of the square, and a bridge crosses it to another tent-filled area.
Twilight Sparkle tests the clones' patience by making them watch a paint-covered wall dry. Ponyville has a schoolhouse for foals that first appears in Call of the Cutie. Exterior shots of the schoolhouse show a bell on the roof, a flag in the front yard, and a sign on the lawn depicting an open book and the silhouettes of two rearing fillies.
Classes for foals are taught by Cheerilee ; for example, in Call of the Cutie, she gives a lesson on cutie marks and their significance. In Ponyville Confidential , the students work on and print the Foal Free Press paper in the basement. When Pinkie Pie starts singing in the nursery, Nurse Redheart shushes her and eventually kicks her out. In Read It and Weep , Rainbow Dash breaks her right wing and stays at the hospital for a period of time. It is also mentioned in Hurricane Fluttershy by Rumble as he tells Rainbow Dash about Thunderlane having the feather flu and being at Ponyville Hospital.
Ponyville has had a train station and depot since the founding of the town shown in a flashback in Family Appreciation Day. In The Last Roundup , Applejack boards a train that takes her to Canterlot; and in Over a Barrel , the main characters take a pony-pulled train to Appleloosa. Unlike that train, the trains in Season 2 are powered by steam engines. The main characters travel by train to the Crystal Empire to participate in a welcoming committee for the Equestria Games inspector.
Ponyville's clock tower is visible from the front of Fluttershy 's cottage. A building in which theatrical productions are performed. She says it's "on a secluded, private part of the farm," but the Crusaders express their dismay at its decrepit state. Apple Bloom fixes the broken shutters, sands off the splinters, rebuilds the roof, and repaints the clubhouse. Later in the episode, the Crusaders practice their talent show routine in the clubhouse. The clubhouse is used again in Hearts and Hooves Day when the Crusaders make a card for their teacher, Miss Cheerilee.
Granny Smith is at least a couple of hundred years old. This is shown in Family Appreciation Day as she is one of the first to settle in Ponyville and in Winter Wrap Up , Twilight Sparkle says that Ponyville's been wrapping up winter for hundreds of years without magic.
Just put two and two together and you can tell Granny Smith must be at least a hundred years old. I would expect Applejack to be the eldest of the Mane 6, as she was the last in her class to get her Cutie Mark, Dash was the first. I think that Dash and Pinkie Pie are the youngest. I think the most reasonable explanation would be to say that regular ponies age at the same rate as humans. For example, a six year old pony would be the same as a human child.
So, the mane six are in their late teens, although they don't always act like it. Alicorns are either immortal or have very long lives. Princess Luna is physiologically not much older than the mane six, and about the same as Princess Cadence. Speaking of who, Cadence doesn't seem to be as powerful as Luna and Celestia, so she may age like regular ponies even though she's an alicorn.
It may explain why she chose to marry and why Luna and Celestia never have. As for Granny Smith, let's look back at our own history these last hundred years. Even as cars and electric lights were being created, there were still Civil War veterans alive. So I'd say Granny Smith is at least 90 years old, and that the age of Ponyville was exaggerated. Oh ok. Pinkie lives and works for strangers?! That invalidates my guess for Pinkie. So I would start a baseline age for Let's say The only thing, is that she is really hyper and weird ADHD, i believe which scales her age down and the reason why I put her as So I'll upscale the ages of the mane Multiply by 1.
Applejack will probably be the oldest because she said she got her cutie Mark last in her class ect. I reckon they are about with AJ and Rarity being the oldest and Rainbow and Fluttershy being the younger of the 6. Im certain Pinkie is much older than she seems due to the fact that she lives with and works for strangers as in not family and is allowed to foalsit their young foals by herself.
We got some new information from this week's episode, S5 E11 Party Pooped. In this episode, Applejack finds some notes about future parties Pinkie Pie is planning. Looky here. It's notes for the party she wants to throw for her folks' fiftieth anniversary. But they ain't nearly that old! That probably refers to the wedding anniversary of Pinkie Pie's mother and father.
Their wedding was probably before Pinkie Pie was born, or not much after, so this means Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are much younger than 50 years old. Alternately, this could refer to some other family member, or the Cakes, who treat Pinkie Pie as familiy. Now some information from earlier episodes. In S3 E8 Apple Family Reunion, Granny Smith says they've been holding reunions every hundred month since Ponyville was founded, and Auntie Applesauce mentions there has been at least six reunions before this one, which makes Ponyville at least 56 years old.
I assume. That what is being said in all the comments, they would be years old. Since they are living home alone. Besides Pinkie Pie. Applejack, Being the middle child of the Apple family, and a worker for the family, and of course being the last to get her cutie mark in her class, I would put her the oldest or second oldest of the Mane 6.
To why Granny Smith looks old and wrinkly like she does, Luna and her sister are Alicorns, and are immortal. They cannot die from age.
So to add common sense to add to this concept, if somepony is an immortal. You would reach your max height, and looks, and stay that way. AKA: Looks young forever. For the ages of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, well, you could say they may be the youngest of the other 6 ponies, but to me, I put them in the middle.
Would you trust a kid to be left alone at your house to cook and baby sit your kids? I would not. And now to Fluttershy. And as I said. Pinkie Pie is 17 or 18, so that means she is 18 or 19 years old. For Rainbow Dash? I coooould say she is the same age as Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy, so years old. Reason for putting Fluttershy and Dashie close of age is,since Dasihe and Fluttershy known each other since they were young and in flight school. Now to Rarity. She owns her own tailor shop and makes her own clothes.
So she can be around 20s? To exactly tell who is the oldest between the two? Or if they are the same age. Not sure, but I would put them early 20's. For Twilight Sparkle? I could put her between the ages of Because Twilight being out of school in a manners of sorts, and being out of kindergarten school at that as well.
