Which tenet says that the earth is constantly changing

All that you touch You Change. All that you Change, Changes you. The only lasting truth is Change. God is Change. When I first read this tenet I also had difficulty grasping its meaning and had to reread it.

I thought to myself to highlight it and I continued reading the chapter to see if I could get an understanding. After reading the chapter I went back and read the Earthseed tenet and just broke it down one line at a time.

My understanding of the tenet is it means change will happen and that individuals can make change happen however also be affected by change themselves because change is inevitable.

Self-Discovery can happen while in a leader position because you can realize strengths you might thought you did not have or would be able to do. If the only lasting truth is change and God makes change happen then God is truth. So Washington steps through the Turnstile and starts going backward in time.

He steps into a car outside the warehouse … which is the same silver car that was in the chase earlier! That an inverted person driving a car makes the car itself inverted is one of those things you just have to go with.

The silver car then crashes, in the same crash we saw happen in reverse earlier, and while Inverted Washington is trying to escape, Inverted Evil Russian Kenneth Branagh drops a lighter and sets the car aflame. Except because Washington is inverted, the heat transfer actually works in reverse, and instead of being burned, he only gets hypothermia!

They resolve not to think about it too much. In a forward-moving timeline, the last place we saw it was inside the silver car by the warehouse as Washington and his friends inverted; the most likely bet is that the bad guys who were moving forward in the temporal pincer movement, or an Uninverted Evil Russian Kenneth Branagh himself, picked it up from there.

Now back to Oslo, and you can probably guess where this is going. Inverted Pattinson and Inverted Sad Wounded Elizabeth Debicki go back through the Turnstile too, so now all our heroes are moving forward again. Taking a page from J. Washington catches up with Dimple Kapadia again, and this time she tells him the MacGuffin is actually one of nine MacGuffins that stack up to form something called the Algorithm, which has the power to invert half the planet, thus ending existence as we know it.

But where … and when? Sad Healing Elizabeth Debicki decides she wants in on this exposition business too. She reveals that Evil Russian Kenneth Branagh is suffering from terminal cancer and is going back in time to find a happy memory to end his life in. They realize his happiest memory is the yacht trip to Vietnam, which just so happened to be taking place at the exact same time as the opera attack and an unexplained explosion at the abandoned Soviet nuclear facility he grew up in.

Then they split up. With the help of the hot guy from Yesterday , Sad Healed Elizabeth Debicki will sneak aboard the yacht and pretend to be her past self, stalling the version of Evil Russian Kenneth Branagh who arrives there from the future before he can kill himself.

Meanwhile, Washington, Pattinson, and the Tenet army will attack the abandoned Soviet nuclear facility and try to disassemble the Algorithm. In Tenet , however, the emotional development seems secondary.

The stakes, despite the coming apocalypse, never feel that high. Indeed, the most emotive moment of the whole film comes, oddly, from the arms dealer. Tenet is slick, solid big screen entertainment, but it will not, as its characters ask repeatedly of each other, cause anyone to look at the world in a new way.

After the Protagonist wakes up, Neil tells him Sator has the final Algorithm piece. The red, forward-moving team consists of the Protagonist and Ives, while the blue team consists of Neil and a group of backward-moving, inverted troops. They plan to bury the Algorithm and then explode the bunker, leaving the Algorithm underground for recovery in the future.

Turns out the soldier was Neil. After a beat, he proceeds to cross through the turnstile, uninverting himself in the process, since he was originally on the blue team. Neil then drives a truck to pull Ives and the Protagonist out right before the explosion seals them inside. The three regroup, having saved the day. However, the two will meet again once the Protagonist recruits Neil at some point in the future. This is the close of their friendship, but their beginning is still to come.

Does your head hurt? How does time in Tenet work? What is the Algorithm?
